Laugh's for all ages.
There is nothing I enjoy more than a bit of slap stick comedy and panto’s tick every box when it comes to this. I was literally crying laughing at some of the things that came out of the casts mouth’s, whether it be innocent jokes for the kids or carefully planned adult joke’s.
Panto’s can be enjoyed by all the family no matter how young or old. Good (sometimes naughty) humour, dancing, singing and special effects make pantomime’s so enjoyable for everyone.
I can see pantomimes being around forever.
I remember all the panto’s that me and my sister went to see with our grandparents when we were young. Every Christmas the social club used to run trips for all its members and we would all pile onto a double decker bus and there would be a lady handing out bags of sweets, crisps and carton drinks and we would head off to the local theatre to watch the season panto.
Brilliant memories, which im sure lots of you will have to.

St Helen’s Theatre Royal always put on a cracking show. We have been to several panto’s here in the past and every one of them have been amazing.
Running from Saturday 2nd April to Monday 18th April over the Easter school holidays.
This is a show you do not want to miss out on.
“Don’t grow up. It’s a trap.”
Peter Pan and the adventures in Netherland is a classic story wrote by J.M Barrie in 1904 was originally a play but in 1911 it was turned into a novel which would go on to be one of the most famous stories of our time.
The novel has been made into lots of movie’s from the likes of Disney and others. My favourite adaption is Disney’s Hook where the late Robin Williams starred as a grown up Peter Pan who had to go back to Netherland to rescue his children from Captain Hook, with the help of Tinkerbell (Julia Roberts) and the lost boys.
“Come with me, where dreams are born and time is never planned.”
St Helens Theatre Royal adaption for the Easter Panto had all the characters, Peter Pan (Harrison Vaughan from television show The Greatest Dancer), Tinkerbell and Captain Hook as well as all the other characters from the story. They had an extra character Mrs Smee (David Phipps Davis) who played Mr Smee’s mum. Both Mr and Mrs Smee were the comedians of the show with lots of wise crack jokes and a few accidental mishaps thrown into the mix. Some of the lines they had to learn I’m not surprised they were giggling on stage to each other. They absolutely stole the show!
“Second star to the right and straight on ’til morning.”
Fireworks lit up the stage at the half way point making it the perfect time to grab a quick drink or toilet break.
The show was on for approximately 2.5 hours including an interval. It honestly didn’t feel like it was on so long as we enjoyed every second of it from start to finish.
At the end of the show long silver metalic streamers came floating down from the ceiling covering anyone that they landed on.
The perfect start to the Easter holidays.
Where adults can relax and turn into big kids again and equally enjoy it with our younger generation.
I would highly recommend for you to book a panto over the holidays, your whole family will enjoy it and be talking about it for weeks.
